MARTINSVILLE, Va. (Aug. 10, 2026) — The community celebrated America's 250th birthday at Happy Birthday, America! Family Day on Aug. 8 in the Gravely-Lester Art Garden.
The free, birthday party-themed event featured fun activities for all ages, including a bounce house, games, and craft projects led by members of the Piedmont Arts Guild. Guests were also treated to a special performance by local favorite Pirates of the Piedmont.
This event was sponsored by Brightspeed and Carter Bank. Snacks were provided by Food Lion on Greensboro Road.
