Canceled – STEAM Symposium

The STEAM Symposium for Saturday, November 23 at New College Institute is canceled due to low registration. Educators eligible for 5 – 7 recertification points Join NCI and Piedmont Arts for a STEAM Symposium for educators, students and community supporters who are interested in learning how the arts can be integrated into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) disciplines. The STEAM Symposium will inlcude breakout sessions led by STEAM experts, followed by a luncheon with keynote speaker Dr. James Rolling, Syracuse University dual professor of arts education and teaching and leadership and the current president-elect of the National Arts in Education Association. After the keynote address, renowned author Hasan Davis will bring to life the story of an overlooked hero of color with the theatrical performance, York Explorer. Immediately following the luncheon, Piedmont Arts will host attendees for a Faerie Kingdom Escape Room from 2 – 3:30 pm at the museum. Anyone may attend the two morning sessions and/or the luncheon, but attendance requires reservations. The luncheon is open to the public and is for middle/high school students and adults.
