Purnell Schottland Hearn Pettyjohn

Purnell Schottland Hearn Pettyjohn is a native of Martinsville and has lived in Lynchburg since 1972. In 1991, she discovered the mysterious and unpredictable properties of watercolor by taking a local class. After nineteen years of study with various local and nationally known instructors, she began sharing the knowledge she gained with instruction and exploration. She presently teaches adult watercolor classes to beginner, intermediate and advanced students in her studio, Art on 12th, which is located over the Art Box in downtown, Lynchburg.
