Professor Elliot Engel
9/23/14 - 7:30 PM
Piedmont Arts

Dr. Engel’s witty and engaging talk offers insight into the lives of the Vanderbilts, one of the wealthiest families in history.

The Vanderbilts' success began with shipping and railroad empires and expanded into various areas of industry and philanthropy. Patriarch Cornelius Vanderbilt's descendants went on to build grand mansions on Fifth Avenue in New York City, luxurious "summer cottages" in Newport, Rhode Island and Asheville, North Carolina's palatial Biltmore Estate.

Guests are invited to enjoy an optional pre-talk dinner with Dr. Engel at 6:30 pm.
