Fahrenheit 451 Essay Contest

As part of Piedmont Arts' exploration of literary censorship, Patrick Henry Community College's Writing Center and Piedmont Arts host an essay contest focusing on themes explored in Ray Bradbury's dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451. Only original entries will be accepted. Entries must be delivered to Piedmont Arts by 5 pm on Friday, November 8. Winners will be announced at Piedmont Arts on Tuesday, November 12. Topic: If you could save only one book of fiction from being burned, what it would be and why? Length: 500 words or less Categories: Seniors (62+); Adults (31 – 61); Young Adults (18 – 30); and High School Students Prizes: The winners of each adult category will receive two Piedmont Arts On Stage Season Tickets; The winner of the high school category will receive two tickets to Fahrenheit 451 and a gift certificate from Binding Time Cafe.
