Historic Garden Tour – Art in Bloom

Martinsville Garden Club and the Garden Study Club invite guests to enjoy Art in Bloom, part of Historic Garden Tour in Martinsville–Henry County. With history rooted in tobacco, textiles, and furniture, Martinsville has discovered the “art” in its name. The Art and Culture District now plays an integral part in the revitalization of the town nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Art in Bloom features interpretive arrangements showcased at Piedmont Arts and gardens and private homes nearby. The showcased homes range from early 20th century Colonial and Georgian Revival architecture with traditional décor to an Uptown loft with collections of Native American items, artifacts from the American West and antique toys. One of the highlights of this tour is the Little Post Office, c. 1893, with grounds graced by Piedmont Arts' R.P Gravely-A.J. Lester Art Garden and a display of vintage Porsches. Tickets and lunch available at Piedmont Arts. $20 per person • $10 for children 6 – 12 Martinsville Garden Club
