What do bratwurst, lederhosen and bier have in common? Oktoberfest, of course! Head to Martinsville Uptown from 11 am – 4 pm for the festivities. Piedmont Arts and Studio 107 will have fun fall crafts for kids in front of the studio until 1 pm, plus a chance to win tickets to Trout Fishing in America's family music concert at the Rives Theatre on October 18.
Oktoberfest is an admission free, family-friendly street festival presented by Martinsville Uptown Revitalization Association that brings hundreds of visitors to Uptown Martinsville. This year's festival will feature a 32-person German band and dance troupe, an authentic German food vendor, a wide variety of American cuisine and carnival food, a craft beer garden and a second stage featuring 4 different bands. OVER 200 VENDORS from 5 states will have booths selling arts and crafts, jewelry, accessories, home accents, holiday items and much more. Kids will enjoy the free petting zoo, bouncing in the bounce house, jumping against the Velcro wall, face painting, puppet shows, balloon animals and a great haunted house.
