Theatreworks Community Players
In 2004, a group of interested members of the community with backgrounds in theater and dance established TheatreWorks of Martinsville and Henry County. They recognized the possibilities and potential of Community Theater and what it can mean to the area including economic development, partnerships, and a showcase for local talent. In the summer of 2005, the group presented the quirky musical Little Shop of Horrors , followed by Children of Eden in 2006, Peter Pan in 2007, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown in 2008, and Beehive, the 60's in 2009.
Thanks to a grant from the Harvest Foundation for board development, the group is now forging ahead as TheatreWorks Community Players and has completed many of the needed steps to become a non-profit organization. All members of the community are invited to be a part of TWCP — on stage or behind the scenes, we want you to be a part of the show!
