Organized in 1947, the Studio Group of Rockingham County is the oldest group of its kind in North Carolina. Throughout the group’s history, membership has included actors, writers, a wood carver, jade collector, flutist, composer, pianist, published novelists, poets, photographers, ceramists, viola/violinist, weaver, sculptors, jewelry makers, china painters, potters, printmaker, glass artists and graphic artists. The present membership, of over 22 artists, includes those working in watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic, graphite, collage, photography, clay, sculpture and stained and fused glass.
