Get Directions Join Piedmont Arts for a reception and awards ceremony honoring Hooker Furniture and Carolyn Beale, the 2012 recipients of the Clyde Hooker Award. This reception will also honor the 2012 recipients of the Hufford Memorial Arts Scholarship, the Harold Knowlton Work Memorial Scholarship and the Arts in Education Award. Piedmont Arts' Board of Directors created the Clyde Hooker Award in 2003 to recognize individuals and businesses that have made significant donations of their talents, time and resources in support of the arts in this area. The award is named for J. Clyde Hooker, Jr. in grateful appreciation of his generous support of the arts and culture in Martinsville and Henry County. Award recipients are chosen by committee from nominations submitted by members of the community. $10
